It was Jubilee‘s birthday, there were Frogs, Diplo and A-Trak jumped in front of our camera, the crowd went bonkers about a thousand times, and we took what some sources call “The Best Photo Ever”.

Flashing Lights Photos are UP!

Hey dudes,

First of all, THANK YOU to everyone who came out to Flashing Lights on Friday.  We had the most fun we’ve ever had and we owe it all to the great people who got in front of the camera to wild out.  Second of all, after a ton of demand, your photos are UP at the MRI Lightpainting Flickr.  Michelle worked like crazy getting em up for everyone so a big thanks to her as well.   And while we’re thanking folks, thanks to Goodpeoples, MeanRed, and the Flashing Lights kids for having us out again.  Stay tuned for the next one.

Hey everyone, whaaaat’s happening?  Yeah.   We’re going to need you to go ahead and sort of come in tomorrow night to..Studio B for Flashing Lights.  Lets say, around  10 pm?  It’s not a half day or anything.  Mmmkay?  Great. Yeaaaahhhh…

Heavy handed references aside, we would love to see you all tomorrow night at Studio B, where we will be setting up our second LIVE Lightpainting Booth.  Check out the photos from the last lightpainting booth here.

Unmasked + New Yorker Tries To Be Us

..Here, as promised, is one of the final shots of the Flashing Lights kids.  Handsome, aren’t they?

This is one of the press photos they ended up using, and thanks to them for letting us throw it on the blog.  There’s more to come in the future, once they get some good miles out of them in the blogs/press/promo world we will put them up here for you to see.

Other than that, they got some great press in the New Yorker…and ahem…that picture…does it look familiar?

p.s.  Unrelated but still unbelievably hilarious.   Say you had a dog, and you named him the name of a TV show, what would you name him?  Michelle and I have been laughing our faces off the entire day over, “This is my dog ‘America’s Most Wanted’, and this little fella here is ‘Cops’.”  Now, you try.

Whats up?  We know its been a little while since our last post.  Have no fear we’ve been hard at work getting everything together for our  Lightpainting Photo Booth at the next Flashing Lights Party in Brooklyn on April 3rd!  If you didn’t make it last time, make sure to come out this time and get your very own lightpainting shots done.

Hey Kids,

How was your weekend?  Ours was pretty big.  Sunday night after a decent weekend (Ryan saw The Pogues but was too sick to dance, Michelle danced like crazy at a friends Bday party) we had a great shoot with the kids from Flashing Lights – DJ’s Ayres, Nick Catchdubs, and Jubilee came through the studio to get their press photos done for their appearances at the South By Southwest Music Conference in Texas this weekend.  The photo above is just a taste, because we don’t want to blow up their spot QUITE yet.  If anyone is lucky enough to be in Austin in the next few days for SXSW, make sure to check these guys out at their various appearances!

Hey Dudes,

Well, its been a heck of a week/couple weeks.  We had the NPR piece, some great blog pieces, and we did some special valentine’s day stuff.  Its been busy, but busy is good.  Thanks to everyone who showed their love.

What’s next?  Well…

We’re going to Hawaii!  That’s right, the both of us are Hawaii bound for the next few weeks, taking a much needed vacation.  We’ll be staying on an organic farm where no phones/laptops are allowed so if you notice a bit of silence on the blog front, have no fear – we’ll be kicking ass, lightpainting in sunny Hawaii, and we will show you what we come up with when we get back!

And, though it hasn’t been officially announced, MRI will be setting up a LIVE LIGHTPAINTING PHOTO BOOTH at an amazing monthly party called Flashing Lights, at Studio B in Brooklyn.  We will keep you posted with more details but this will be a great chance to come and get your very own lightpainting photo made of yourself and your crew.
